Jordanian boy, Syrian woman in Qatar die of swine flu

AMMAN, Nov 4 (KUNA) -- The Jordanian Health ministry said on Wednesday that the number of swine flu cases reported in the country has risen to 2311 cases, including the Kingdom's eight confirmed death related to the virus which belonged to a 13 years old boy.
The ministry said in its weekly report that the swine flu-related fatality was an Aqaba child.
The statement added more than 308 new instances of H1N1 flu virus were recorded over the past week, 95 of whom are still receiving medications.
Meanwhile, Qatari Higher Council for Health reported today the demise of a Syrian woman as result of the swine flue, affirming the state's fifth fatality case in the country.
The Syrian woman, 45 years old, suffering from cancer, arrived one week earlier in the country, was admitted to hospital in the special care unit, and was announced dead last night, a source from the council said in a press release.
