WASHINGTON, Oct 30 (KUNA) -- US President Barack Obama is "frustrated" with
slow production of the H1N1 Swine flu vaccine, the White House said Friday.
At last count, 26.2 million doses have been made available, three million
more than two days ago. Yet it is a far from the expected 100 million doses
that health officials had expected.
"The president is frustrated with ensuring that this vaccine is delivered,
on time and wont be satisfied until those that want to be vaccinated, from
H1N1 have the opportunity through the vaccine to do so," Whtie Hosue spokesman
Robert Gibbs said at a briefing today.
"The manufacturing of the vaccine, which normally takes about six to nine
months, in this case is taking closer to six months," Gibbs said. "But it is
hasnt been tas fast as we were told or as fast as we had hoped."
Earlier today a report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) showed 19 more adolescent deaths linked to the H1N1 Swine flu virus,
bringing the total to 114. (end)
