ISLAMABAD, Oct 24 (KUNA) -- A police officer and a militant were killed on
Saturday when militants opened fire at a police mobile van in a northern
Pakistani district, said police.
The incident took place in Mardan district of North-West Frontier Province
(NWFP). Police sources told KUNA that the police mobile van was on routine
patrol when militants opened fire at it.
Sources said that the militant firing killed Additional Senior House
Officer (SHO) and wounded another. They added that in retaliatory fire, a
militant was also killed and two wounded.
Sources said that the militants managed to flee. (end)
