KABUL, Oct 21 (KUNA) -- A US soldier was killed in an improvised explosive
device (IED) attack in southern Afghanistan, the military said on Wednesday.
Without giving more details, the military statement said the soldier died
on Tuesday.
Separately, the Afghan and international troops arrested a suspected
militant during a search operation for Taliban suicide bombers and IED
facilitators in the southern province of Kandahar.
The suspected militant is believed to be responsible for numerous attacks
and ambushes in the region and is also believed to be a shadow governor for
the local Taliban's illegitimate government. (end)
