ISLAMABAD, Oct 20 (KUNA) -- Pakistan Tuesday assured Iran of full
cooperation in resolving the issue related to the banned Jundullah militant
group that has been involved in recent suicide attack on Iranian Revolutionary
Guards (IRG).
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmoud Qureshi talking to newsmen in his hometown,
Multan city, said that Pakistan contacted Iran after the incident and not only
strongly condemned the incident but also assured the Iranian side of full
cooperation on the part of Islamabad.
The Minister said that an Iranian delegation will soon be visiting
Islamabad in this regards.
Jundullah (Allahs Army) is a militant group that is believed to be based
in Pakistan.
More than 40 IRG personnel were killed in a suicide bomb few days back in
Iran. Tehran has said that Jundullah group is behind the attack and that
it will be demanding extradition of certain suspects from Pakistan.
The Pakistani foreign minister said that Islamabad would fully cooperate
with Iran on the issue as it wanted to sustain its long-term relation with
Tehran.
The Minister said that Iran is an important country, adding, Pakistan is
working on a vital multi-billion gas pipeline project. (end)
