Iraqi awaiting int''l investigator to investigate terrorist bombings -- Bolani

CAIRO, Oct 17 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Interior Minister Jawad al-Bolani announced here on Saturday that his country was awaiting the arrival of an international investigator to initiate investigations in the terrorist bombings that targeted the Ministries of Finance and Foreign Affairs last August.
In an interview with "Al Ahram" newspaper, al-Bolani said that the international investigator was currently being named, noting that the bombings targeted mainly the "heart of the Iraqi state" by hitting two sovereign institutions.
Al-Bolani pointed out that ensuring the confidentiality of those matters made the Iraqi side not to provide evidence or disclosure of who had been behind the attacks, saying the file has been transferred to the Foreign Ministry while the Iraqi security forces were gathering the evidence and facts that reveal those involved.
He noted that the Iraqi security services have uncovered many of the terrorist crimes and arrested the perpetrators, eventhough some of them had managed to escape out of the country, adding that the Iraqi security services are more professional in such confrontations.
