ISTANBUL, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Local security sources said that two Turkish
soldiers were wounded on Tuesday in a mine explosion planted by Kurdish rebels
in southeast Turkey.
The Turkish General Staff said in a statement on its website that the blast
occurred while troops launched a search operation in the province of Sernak,
adding that the two soldiers were transferred to hospital for treatment.
In a related statement it said that security authorities in the province of
Mardingin found weapons and explosives belonging to the separatist Kurdistan
Workers Party which included hand grenades and explosive materials.(end)
