BAGHDAD, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Political parties are trying to politicize the
detainees and arrests issue as security operations continue in various parts
of Baghdad, Spokesman for the Baghdad Operations Command General Qassim Atta
said.
He added that some political parties are trying to attain political and
election gains by pressing inaccurate charges against security forces such as
bias.
The arrests are taking place in various parts of Baghdad through warrants
issued by the judicial system or upon receipt of intelligence information, he
stated.
He denied media reports saying that the arrests are implemented according
to pre-written lists for political motives.
Political parties have recently criticized the security operation that
resulted in arresting a number of wanted people in Abu-Ghraib.(end)
