GAZA, Sept 29 (KUNA) -- Israel said Tuesday that Palestinians fired two
rockets on southern Israel without causing any deaths, injuries or material
losses.
A spokesperson for the Israeli military was quoted by local radio as saying
that Palestinian gunmen fired two rockets at Israel, one of which landed in
Southern Ashkelon, the other in Western Negev.
No Palestinian faction has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
Meanwhile, Israeli fighters were seen flying over several areas in Gaza,
according to Palestinian sources.
The sources said F-16 fighters, as well as Apache helicopter and
reconnaissance planes were seen above several positions in the area.
Israeli Defence Forces had earlier announced its decision to bombard
several positions in Gaza if Palestinian factions opted to fire rockets into
southern Israel.
Elsewhere, an Israeli settler was wounded during a shooting incident north
of the West Bank, said Israeli radio.
Unknown gunmen fired at the settler who is said to be in critical condition
according to the report.
Israeli forces following the incident, are combing the area in search of
the assailants. (end)
