TOKYO, Sept 11 (KUNA) -- China's crude oil imports rose 18.0 percent in
August from a year earlier to 18.47 million tons, or 4.37 million barrels a

Imports fell 5.9 percent from July's 19.63 million tons (4.64 million bpd),
according to data released by the General Administration of Customs on its
Website.

China is the world's second-biggest oil consumer after the US.
Kuwait and China decided last month a new location for a USD 9 billion
refinery and petrochemical complex in the southwestern Guangdong Province. The
plant, slated for completion by 2013, will have a crude oil refining capacity
