KABUL, Aug 28 (KUNA) -- A soldier of the International Security Assistance
Force (ISAF) was killed Friday when his vehicle stepped on a landmine in
eastern Afghanistan.
A spokesperson for the US troops in Afghanistan confirmed that the soldier
belonged to the American troops.
A statement from ISAF headquarters here said the incident happened when the
military vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) today.
"On behalf of all the members of ISAF, I extend my most sincere condolences
to this service members loved ones. Our prayers are with them in their time
of loss," said ISAF spokesperson Brigadier-General Eric Tremblay. (end)
