KABUL, Aug 26 (KUNA) -- Two US soldiers were among the three ISAF members
killed in Afghanistan in different incidents on Wednesday.
A soldier of the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), whose
nationality was not disclosed, died of wounds he had suffered in an Improvised
Explosive Device (IED) detonation on August 15.
The service member had been repatriated home for treatment and was with his
family members when he passed away, said ISAF spokesperson Brigadier General
Eric Tremblay.
Two more soldiers, both of them from the US troops, were killed in separate
incidents in southern and eastern Afghanistan on Wednesday.
One US service member died as a result of an IED blast in southern
Afghanistan. A second was killed in a hostile fire attack in eastern
Afghanistan, said a statement from ISAF headquarters.
"We share a sense of sadness and loss with the families and friends of these
service members and offer our deepest condolences to them in this most
difficult time," said the spokesperson.
Four ISAF soldiers were killed in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday. Like the
previous month, the month of August is also proving to be the bloodiest as the
death toll of US soldiers has crossed 40 so far (end)
