ISLAMABAD, Aug 26 (KUNA) -- At least two people were killed and three others
were wounded Wednesday in a hand-grenade attack in a Pakistani city, said
police.
Unknown masked motorcyclists, believed to be local nationalist militants,
hurled two hand-grenades at a shop on Khushk Road in Quetta, the capital of
Baluchistan province, police sources told KUNA.
They said the attack killed two people and wounded three others.
A series of bomb and firing incidents have been reported in Quetta since
Wednesday morning as the province was observing the third death-anniversary of
nationalist leader Akbar Bugti.
According to the provincial authorities, about nine people were reported
killed in various bomb and firing incidents and a dozens of others were
wounded. Also, shutter-down strike was being observed.
It may be mentioned here that Akbar Bugti was killed in a military
operation, ordered by former President Pervez Musharraf. (end)
