Militants dispatch suicide bombers to avenge Pakistan''s Swat operations

ISLAMABAD, Aug 22 (KUNA) -- Intelligence reports Saturday warned of a renewed spate of suicide bombing in northern and eastern provinces of Pakistan to avenge the ongoing military operations in the bordering tribal belt and northern Swat district.
The outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has started organizing itself again, said intelligence reports being communicated to the law-enforcement agencies.
The reports indicated that the TTP militants have planned a new wave of terrorism and dispatched near 50 suicide bombers in eastern Punjab and northern Frontier provinces, Interior Ministry sources told KUNA.
The plan is being devised to avenge the ongoing military operations in Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) and the recent killing of Baitullah Mehsud and subsequent arrests of his close aides, said the reports.
The intelligence reports said that the militants also want the release of their arrested accomplices, which include Maulvi Omar, the TTP spokesman and an expert of making suicide jackets and vehicles, and those arrested for involvement in attacks on Sri Lankan cricket team.
The Interior Ministry sources said that the Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik has issued the directives to put Islamabad security on high alert.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police arrested at least eleven militants including suicide bombers. (end) amn.ema KUNA 221002 Aug 09NNNN
