KUWAIT, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- The Health Ministry announced Thursday that 332
cases of swine flu were reported this week.
The Ministry's official spokesman Dr. Yousif Al-Nisef told the press that
the ministry had earlier announced that a 21-year-old Kuwaiti had died two
days ago due to his ailing health condition as a result of being infected with
the AH1N1 virus. Al-Nisef advised those with heart problems, diabetis,
asthma, allergy and pregnant women to exercise caution as such category of
patienst are more vulnerable to contract the virus.
The number of swine flu cases in Kuwait since the announcement of the World
Health Organization (WHO) last April 24 had reached 1,072 with most cases
being cured of the disease, said the official who affirmed that the ministry
was very transparent when conveying information about the disease.
World statistics about the disease showed the infection of about 243,587
individuals in 170 countries, with 2,349 reported dead due to the pandemic.
