TEHRAN, June 13 (KUNA) -- The Iranian police banned on Saturday the holding
public gatherings without obtaining a permit from the relevant authorities.
The police said in a statement that gatherings, protests and marches were
banned throughout the country without official permits.
The interior security forces will resist any "illegal acts," warned the
statement, whose issuance coincided with widespread tension throughout the
country following the re-election of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as the president of
the Islamic republic. (end)
