ISLAMABAD, May 20 (KUNA) -- Authorities here have arrested three suspected
militants, who are believed to have links with Al-Qaeda network, in the tribal
agency, bordering Afghanistan.
The three militants were arrested while traveling in a private vehicle from
Bajaur tribal agency to Dir, the northern district where security forces are
conducting operations against local Taliban militants, security sources told
KUNA.
The militants are believed to be of Tajik origin and belong to Al-Qaeda
network.
It may be mentioned here that Mullah Fazlullah, commander of Sawat valley
Taliban militants, swears allegiance to Baitullah Mehsud, one of the most
influential commander of Pakistan Taliban and has his strongholds in South
Waziristan and Bajaur tribal agencies.
Also, on Tuesday authorities arrested four Burqa-clad Arab and an Afghan
militants from Mohmand tribal agency. (end)
