KABUL, May 9 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition and Afghan troops killed seven
militants and seized 600 pounds of narcotics in separate operation in southern
Afganistan.
The coalition troops said Saturday that the operations were conducted in
Nahre Saraj district of the country's southern province of Helmand last night.
In a statement, the coalition said that as troops were conducting an
operation and searching different compounds, the coalition air crafts were
fired at.
Aircraft targeted the suspected positions and killed five militants.
Two more militants were killed as they were setting up ambush for the
Afghan and coalition troops, said a statement issued by US Bagram Base. (end)
