KUWAIT, March 17 (KUNA) -- National Assembly Speaker Jassem Al-Kharafi adjourned Tuesday's session due to lack of quorum and the absence of members of the cabinet.
Speaking at the opening of the session, Al-Kharafi said that His Highness the Prime Minister had notified him that the ministers would not be attending, as the resignation of the cabinet was accepted by His Highness the Amir last night.
He added, "Due to lack of quorum and the absence of the cabinet members, the session is adjourned." Yesterday, His Highness the Amir had issued an Amiri Order accepting the resignation of His Highness the Prime Minister and cabinet members, while ordering them to continue to oversee urgent state affairs until a new government is formed.
