Estonia agrees with Iraq to withdraw forces
Military and Security    2/7/2009 7:36:00 PM

BAGHDAD, Feb 7 (KUNA) -- Iraq and Estonia signed an agreement Saturday over the withdrawal of the Estonian forces which are working within US-led Multi-National Force (MNF).
Iraqi defense minister Abdulqader Al-Obaidi, at a joint news conference with his Estonian counterpart Jaak Aaviksoo after signing the agreement, said the deal stipulated the withdrawal of 34 Estonian troops from Iraq.
He said the agreement was the first step towards boosting defense cooperation between Iraq and Estonia.
Aaviksoo voiced relief for the progress of the Iraqi forces and their ability to restore order nationwide.
Estonia took part in the MNF in 2003 with 100 troops but the number declined to the current 34. (end) ahh.bs KUNA 071936 Feb 09NNNN
