Military and Security    1/22/2009 3:39:00 PM

(With photos) BAGHDAD, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- Serbia declared Thursday its readiness to train Iraqi security forces and to provide armament, within the framework of friendly relations between the two countries.
According to a government statement, this proposal was made during a meeting between Serb Defense minister Dragan Sutanovac and Iraqi Premier Nouri Al-Maliki.
The Serb minister was quoted as saying that his country and Iraq enjoyed friendly relations that it wanted not only to maintain them, but to boost them as well.
My visit to Baghdad today comes to renew relations in more than one area, he said, adding that his country was ready to assist Iraq with all its requirements, including training in military medicine.
The two sides also discussed direct cooperation in police and army armament. (pickup previous) ahh.ema KUNA 221539 Jan 09NNNN
