GAZA, Dec 14 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian mortar shell that hit southern Israel
last night was launched from northern Gaza Strip, landed in an open area near
Gaza Strip, and caused no casualties, an Israeli Army spokesperson said Sunday.
No Palestinian faction claimed responsibility for the attack as yet.
Meanwhile, the Israeli Army announced that it would keep shut all
commercial crossings with Gaza Strip, due to "security threats".
Israel had imposed, six weeks ago, a siege on Gaza Strip, closing crossings
and banning the entry of foods, medication, and other requirements of the 1.5
million Gaza Strip population.
The closure caused food prices to go up over drop of supplies, in addition
to the shutdown of electricity for long hours, due to the power plants running
out of fuel.(end)
