ISLAMABAD, Dec 12 (KUNA) -- Suspected militants attacked and destroyyed at
least 30 trucks carrying supplies for NATO forces in Afghanistan in northern
Pakistani city of Peshawar Friday night.
The incident was the fourth in last two weeks, mounting the number of
destroyed containers, loaded with supplies and military vehicles and other
hardware, to near 300.
Police sources told KUNA that suspected militants fired more than six
rockets at the trucks, parked in the World Port Logistics in Peshawar, capital
of North-West Frontier Province (NWFP).
Earlier on Sunday morning at least 150 trucks were set on fire by militants
who attacked two terminals on the city's main Ring Road. This was the most
severe assault so far on NATO supplies in the region that killed a security
guard also. The two terminals were littered with burnt Humvees, cranes,
military trucks and hardware. (end)
