Iraqi killed in Baghdad blast, kidnapped woman rescued

BAGHDAD, Nov 8 (KUNA) -- An Iraqi was killed in a northern Baghdad blast on Saturday, while security forces secured the release of a kidnapped women in a separate operation.
An Iraqi police source told KUNA that an explosive device planted along a road in northern Baghdad's Cairo district was detonated, killing one civilian and wounding six others.
The blast caused material damage to a number of cars within proximity, and the wounded were evacuated to Kindi Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry said in a statement that its forces in Adhamiya, northern Baghdad, secured the release of a kidnapped woman and her child.
It added that the kidnappers were apprehended, but did not say how many of them there were nor their affiliation. (end) ahh.ema KUNA 081310 Nov 08NNNN
