BAGHDAD, Nov 8 (KUNA) -- An Iraqi was killed in a northern Baghdad blast on
Saturday, while security forces secured the release of a kidnapped women in a
separate operation.
An Iraqi police source told KUNA that an explosive device planted along a
road in northern Baghdad's Cairo district was detonated, killing one civilian
and wounding six others.
The blast caused material damage to a number of cars within proximity, and
the wounded were evacuated to Kindi Hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry said in a statement that its forces in
Adhamiya, northern Baghdad, secured the release of a kidnapped woman and her
child.
It added that the kidnappers were apprehended, but did not say how many of
them there were nor their affiliation. (end)
