Militants in army fatigues kill 3 women in Diyala

BAGHDAD, Nov 2 (KUNA) -- A woman and her two daughters were killed while others were injured by unknown gunmen, dressed in Iraqi security force costumes after they broke into their home in Mansouriyat Al-Jabal region in Muqdadiyah, north east of the capital.
Iraqi security sources told KUNA that a woman and two of her daughters were killed in an attack by unknown gunmen early in the morning.
They added the gunmen broke into the home of Adnan Al-Azawi in Muqdadiyah, 45 kilometers east of Baquba, killing an old woman then one of her daughters aged 25 years old, then her 22 years old daughter, before leaving the house.
They also said three girls from the same family were also injured, and that the motives of the attack are still unknown.
It is unclear whether the gunmen are members of a radical group, or if the incident is a crime of honor.
Diyala, close to Iran, suffers many suicide bombings, sometimes carried out by women, and is a place where a number of radical groups operate in spite of the high security measures taken in the region.
Locals stated to KUNA that the mother and six of her daughters all live in the one house, while the father lives in another town. They were not sure if the father lived in Baghdad.(end) mhg.lb KUNA 021434 Nov 08NNNN
