SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Oct 25 (KUNA) -- The US is going to provide USD 320
million to combat bird flu, said an official on Saturday.
Undersecretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs Paula Dobriansky
told the press on the sidelines of the sixth international conference on bird
flu held here that the US has provided international organizations and 90
states with USD 949 million to fight the disease.
She affirmed that her country was working on methods to counter bird flu
worldwide.
The conference is held as follow-up to several previous international
gatherings on means of combating the communicable disease that could mutate
and affect human beings, involved more than 500 personalities and
representatives of 24 international organizations and agencies. (pickup
