BAGHDAD, Oct 2 (KUNA) -- Gunmen killed six people in the governorate of
Diyala, northeast of Iraq, said a security source Thursday.
A source at Diyala command told KUNA that the gunmen intercepted a mini-van
which boarded 10 individuals of the same family in Al-Meqdadiya area northern
Diyala.
The gunmen opened fire on the vehicle killing six people and injuring four
others, stated the source, adding that an investigation has commenced to find
those responsible for the attack.
Despite the current occasion of Eid el-Fitr, gunmen and terror groups still
are still wreacking havoc against innocent citizens and Iraq as well as MNF
troops, painting a different image of the Iraq "free of terror and tyranny"
which followed the fall of the pervious Saddam regime in 2003. (end)
