DAMASCUS, Aug 25 (KUNA) -- Minister of Local Administration and Environment
Hilal al-Atrash discussed Monday with a delegation of the French development
Agency aspects of bilateral cooperation in fields of development,
environment, water resources, sewage, renewable energies and wastes.
During the meeting, the Minister referred to the distinguished relations
connecting some Syrian cities of historic features with the French
counterparts, underlining the need to consolidate these ties in future and
support environment.
Chairman of the French delegation said the activities of the Agency
concentrate on the Mediterranean countries in three axis, the first is to
boost economy, the second is to develop projects of social dimensions and the
third focuses on protecting environment.
"The values of projects carried out by the Agency in the region reached at
650 millions Euro, 30% for infrastructure and cities development, 15% for
water and sewage and 17% for production," Chairman of the delegation said.
The French Development Agency is a financial institution specialized in
offering aid to the developing countries to help them push process of
