Egypt sees 6.3 magnitude quake, no damage reports

CAIRO, July 15 (KUNA) -- An earthquake jolted Egypt early Tuesday at an intensity of 6.3 points on the Richter scale and was felt all across the country, though no damage reports have come in yet.
The President of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) Dr. Salah Mohammad Mahmoud told media the origin of the earthquake is in Das Island in the Aegean Sea between Greece and Turkey, which is 561 kilometers from Alexandria coastal City, northern Egypt.
He added that the quake happened at 6,26 a.m., Egypt local time, and the center was at a depth of 32 kilometers under sea level. He said aftershocks are expected, naturally, of lesser magnitude.(end) rg.lb KUNA 150952 Jul 08NNNN
