Iraq arrests ministry staff on charges of affiliation with Al-Qaeda
Military and Security    7/8/2008 11:30:00 AM

BAGHDAD, July 8 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Special Forces arrested three employees of the Iraqi Ministry of Science and Technology on charges of affiliation with Al-Qaeda's network in the country, the US Army reported Tuesday.
An Army statement said the arrests came on Sunday upon orders of the Interior Ministry and that the three employees worked in the ministry's Risafa headquarters.
The men are said to be involved in killings and attacks and in planning of several operations to drive residents out of their neighborhoods in Al-Karadah and Al-Rashid areas, it added.
The statement further detailed that two of the arrestees are siblings, one of whom is involved in killing of four Iraqis, while the third is involved in financing "Al-Qaeda in Iraq".(end) ahh.wsa KUNA 081130 Jul 08NNNN
