BAGHDAD, July 5 (KUNA) -- A would-be terrorist attack on Yarmouk Hospital,
Baghdad's largest medical institutions, was thwarted on Saturday, said head of
operations Major General Qassem Atta.
The official told KUNA that a 15-kilogram bomb had been successfully
defused, noting that the explosive material had been loaded into a fire
extinguisher.
Hospital director Dr. Ismael Haqqi refused to comment on the incident,
saying only that security forces were investigating the matter.
The same hospital had come under attack on Thursday, when a booby-trapped
car blew up at one of the gates, killing four people and wounding eight
others. (end)
