Three US marines, two Iraqi interrupters killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD, June 26 (KUNA) -- Three US marines and two Iraqi interrupters were killed in Al-Anbar region, west of the country, Multi-National Force (MNF) said Thursday.
An MNF statement revealed that the US soldiers and their Iraqi interrupters were involved in a hostile attack in Anbar.
The statement did not revealed more about the incident.
However, sources at the MNF affirmed to KUNA that the five men where victims of an attack on Al-Sahwa (awakening) council meeting which was held in Karmah area, Fallujah city.
The attack resulted in the death of 20 people and the injury of 25 others.
About 29 US marines where killed in June, exceeding the numbers in May, 19.
The total US casualties since the beginning of operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 amounts to 4,113. (end) mhg.gta KUNA 270023 Jun 08NNNN
