NEW DELHI, June 16 (KUNA) -- Sri Lankan combat jets Monday attacked an LTTE
base in Wanni, hours after a suicide blast by a Tamil rebel killed 12 police
personnel in Northern town of Vavuniya.
"Sri Lankan Air Force's fighter jets successfully raided an LTTE logistic
warehouse complex located near Puthukkudiyiruppu," Air Force spokesperson Wing
Commander Janaka Nanayakkara told Indo Asian News Service at Colombo.
This is the second air raid on Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE)
bases in successive days, the news agency said.
In another incident, Air Force helicopters today attacked the LTTE's
forward defence lines at Nagarkovil in the Jaffna peninsula, Wing Commander
Nanayakkara said.
LTTE is yet to react to these attacks. (end)
