IRBIL, June 15 (KUNA) -- Five Iraqis were killed on Sunday, including a
university professor, in separate incidents of violence in the towns of Mosul
and Kirkuk in northern Iraq.
A source in the Iraqi police in Mosul told KUNA that unknown gunmen opened
fire on Waleed Saad Al-Mawla, a professor of the Faculty of Science at the
University of Mosul, while heading to his work in the Al-Hadbaa neighborhood
north of Mosul, killing him on the spot and wounding two of his sons, one of
them seriously.
It added that the unknown gunmen opened fire on two policemen while they
were in a market of the city of Mosul, killing them instantly. (end)
