NEW DELHI, March 22 (KUNA) -- At least 33 rebels of the Liberation Tigers
of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and four government soldiers have been killed in fresh
clashes in northern Sri Lanka.
In major clashes at Parayankulam and Elanthivan areas in Mannar, 15 LTTE
rebels and two government soldiers were killed Saturday, Sri Lanka's Media
Centre for National Security (MCNS) said in a statement in Colombo.
At least 12 rebels were killed in South of Adampan at Mannar yesterday, Sri
Lankan Defence Ministry said today in a statement.
Two soldiers were killed in the South Bar area of Mannar yesterday, the
MCNS said.
Six LTTE cadres were also killed in North of Janakapura in Welioya
yesterday, the MCNS added. (end)
