KPC to modernize strategy to increase oil levels to four million barrels by

2020 KUWAIT, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- In response to changes that the future bears, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) intends to modernize its strategy to bring up production levels to four million barrels per day by 2020, KPC CEO Saad al-Shuwaib said on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters as he inauguarated the new 50 million Kuwaiti dinar worth KPC oil sector complex, Shuwaib said the coporation was holding on to its strategy to increase production levels and that a study would be preapred for the official authorities within the next few months in this regard.
He said there were several projects through which the corporation would achieve its objective, noting that reaching the four million barrels a day level is a challenge that KPC workers pursue to achieve.
He said the corporation intends to increase production of light crude, start producing heavy crude and work on the country's northern oil fields.
On today's inauguration ceremony, Shuwaib said the complex represented a launch on a health and working environment to double capabilities of the KPC workers. (end) ahj.bz.
