Hamas urges militants, leaders to be on guard

GAZA, Feb 5 (KUNA) -- Hamas called Tuesday all Palestinian militants and leaders to be careful and warned them of assassination attempts planned by Israel.
The movement stressed in a press release that the lives of the leaders and militants are valuable to the people and nation, emphasizing the importance of keeping the resistance alive.
The assassination of Palestinian leaders, like Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) leader Aamir Qarmout killed in an Israeli air strike Monday, indicate Israel does not understand the language of negotiations, but the language of power and resistance, Hamas said.
It warned that the targeting of Palestinian leaders will not be tolerated and that thousands of leaders will succeed and follow the path of any leader killed.
Meanwhile, Hamas praised Monday's Dimona attack in which a number of Israelis were killed and injured.
Siege on the Palestinian people will not stop their strife to get what is their right, but will make them stronger, it said.
Two activists of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement were killed and another injured in an Israeli ambush near Jenin on Monday.
In the meantime, head of the foreign affairs and security committee in the Israeli Knesset called Tuesday for targeting Hamas leaders in Gaza.
He said in statements quoted by Israeli radio that members of both Hamas' political and military wings should be targeted.
He also called for completing the building of the wall separating Jabal Al-Khalil area, south of the West Bank, and Israel, to prevent the sneaking of Palestinian militants into Israeli territory.(end) zt.ris KUNA 051225 Feb 08NNNN
