PARIS, Dec 6 (KUNA) -- The French government on Thursday condemned "with
the greatest firmness" the attack yesterday in central Sri Lanka that killed
eighteen people and wounded a number of others.
France "expresses its entire solidarity with the Sri Lankan people and
transmits its sincerest condolences to the families of the victims," Foreign
Ministry spokeswoman Pascale Andreani said in a statement.
"France condemns the recourse to violence and recalls that only a
negotiated settlement can bring a lasting solution to the conflict which has
torn Sri Lanka apart for more than thirty years," the French official added.
