(changing dateline) ISTANBUL, Nov 29 (KUNA) -- A Turkish plane carrying around 56 people crashed early Friday as it was trying to land in Isparta airport in southern Turkey, Turkish Transportation Minister Binali Yildirim said.
Yildirim said in a press conference that all 49 passengers and seven crew members on board were killed in the crash that occurred shortly after it disappeared from radar.
The minister said the aircraft, which departed from Istanbul, had no technical deficiencies and stressed that weather conditions were not abnormal.
Meanwhile, chief executive of the privately-owned AtlasJet, which operated the flight, Tuncay Doganer, said the killed passengers were identified.
