HUJI "commander" killed by associates in Kashmir

NEW DELHI, Nov 24 (KUNA) -- A self-styled "divisional commander" of Harkat-ul-Jehad Islami (HUJI) group has been allegedly killed by his own colleagues in Kishtwar district of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
The body of Abdul Rashid Hajam was recovered from Teetwan area of the Kishtwar district last night, Press Trust of India reported Saturday, quoting an official of the Jammu and Kashmir police.
Hajam, who had joined insurgency in 1992, was arrested in 1997 and later released in 1999, the official said, adding that Hajam had been involved in several terror attacks in Doda and Kishtwar districts of Kashmir since then.
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir police today unearthed an improvised explosive device (IED) at a local hotel in Baramulla district, the news agency said.
