Politics    10/28/2007 5:34:00 PM

KUWAIT, Oct 28 (KUNA) -- Oil minister Bader Al-Humaidhi stressed Sunday that Kuwait must maintain its quota in international petroleum markets to guarantee steady income and utilize revenues in development.
Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) after assuming this post, Al-Humaidhi said maintaining the quota would enable Kuwait to carry out its development plans and goals.
He expressed heartfelt gratitude for the trust bestowed upon him by Kuwait's leadership to assume this very vital post that played a great role in this nation's economy.
He lauded the achievements of his predecessors in this sector in accordance with international oil demand that has taken oil prices to over USD 80 per barrel.
Earlier today, an Amiri Decree was issued to reshuffle the cabinet and Al-Huamidhi assumed this post after being finance minister for a number of years. (end) mab.ms.ayh KUNA 281734 Oct 07NNNN
