ALGIERS, Oct 4 (KUNA) -- Algerian Interior Minister Nourredine Yazid
Zerhouni started on Thursday a two-day visit to France during which he would
discuss security of the French citizens and companies operating in Algeria, an
official source said.
The source told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the visit would seek
completing the Algerian-French coordination to face the threats by the
Al-Qaeda in the Arab Maghreb Countries, namely targeting the French people and
companies in Algeria.
According to the source, the visiting Minister will offer full guarantees
for the protection of the French citizens and companies in his country.
Al-Qaeda in the Arab Maghreb Countries targeted last month a bus carrying
workers in a French company working on a dam in Al-Bwira, 120 km east of the
capital.
The visit will also review the arrangements for a visit to be paid by the
French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, to Algiers in December.(end)
