GAZA, Sept 15 (KUNA) -- Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic
Jihad, claimed responsibility for attacking an Israeli Army unit in northern
Gaza Strip on Saturday.
In a statement, the brigades said the operation, which took place at dawn,
targeted Israeli soldiers, who were on foot at the fence separating northern
Beit Hanoun and the Jewish state.
Two "Zilzal I" explosive devices, each weighing 30 kg, were used in the
attack, it said, claiming that the target was hit and that the activists
returned to base safely.
The attack, it said, was in retaliation for continued Israeli aggression
against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. (end)
