BAGHDAD, Sept 15 (KUNA) -- Four US "Task Force Lightning" soldiers were
killed in Diyala Province yesterday when an explosion occurred near their
vehicle, the Multi-National Force said on Saturday.
The MNF statement did not give further details and the names of the
deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin and release by
the Department of Defense.
Diyala is witnessing a wide-scale military operation at present.
With this, the number of US soldiers killed in Iraq since the war began in
March 2003 stands at 3,780 of which 38 were killed this month alone. (end)
