BAGHDAD, Sep 3 (KUNA) -- Two people were killed when a booby-trapped car
went off in Baghdad and the Multi-National forces detained five Al-Qaeda
members, a police source said on Monday.
The source told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) the car, rigged with explosives,
and parked on the side of a road in western Baghdad, went off, killing at
least two people and wounding three others.
Elsewhere, MNF troops detained five suspected terrorists during operations
Monday to disrupt al-Qaeda in Iraq in Tikrit, in the northern city of Baiji
and the Arab Jabour region.
The detained suspects are said to be tied to senior leaders of al-Qaeda in
Iraq, the MNF said in a statement.(end)
