BEIRUT, Aug 15 (KUNA) -- Lebanese military helicopters shelled strongholds
of Fatah Al-Islam militiamen in the northern Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr
El-Bared on Wednesday, while clashes continued between soldiers and militants.
Local media reported that the helicopters commenced shelling these
strongholds this morning, adding that clashes between soldiers and militants
were taking place in a small area within the camp.
The army is closing in on the armed men, it said.
Moreover, the Lebanese Army is heavily shelling the "Abu Ammar" shelter in
the camp where militants are holed up. (end)
