TEHRAN, Aug 7 (KUNA) -- Tehran said Tuesday it arrested "elements" who were
planning to carry out "terrorist" operations in southern Iran.
"Those people were about to carry out terrorist operations south of the
country, but they were arrested before they execute their operations,"
Minister of Intelligence and Security Qolam Hosein Mohseni-Ejei was quoted by
the Iranian TV as saying.
He said the "enemies" sought to plant seeds of division inside the country
specially in Khusestan in southern Iran.
The names or nationalities of the arrestees were not disclosed.
Mohseni-Ejei said vigilance of security and intelligence people were behind
the thwart of any terrorist attacks. (end)
