Four Iraqi civilians slain in Kerkuk

IRBIL, July 30 (KUNA) -- Unknown militants shot dead four Iraqi civilians, including a female teacher and a local headman, in separate attacks in Kirkuk Monday.
The attackers in speeding car killed Shonem Hussein, a female teacher, in Al-Shorjah, downtown Kirkuk, a local police officer told KUNA.
Two other civilians were killed when gunmen opened fire indiscriminately at passersby in Al-Atebaa Street in Al-Howaijah, south Kerkuk.
Hassan Ahmad Ghadban, headman of Al-Saray District of Al-Huwaijah, succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital after being attacked by unknown gunmen in the city market.
Meanwhile, a police new recruit sustained a gunshot when he came under fire of gunmen on Kirkuk-Mosul highway.
An explosive charge went off targeting a police partrol in Al-Hajjaj District, inside the northern Iraqi city. The attack injured two policemen and a civilians who were hospitalized immediately. (end) sbr.gb KUNA 302136 Jul 07NNNN
