ISLAMABAD, July 28 (KUNA) -- In the latest string of attacks on police,
unknown militants Saturday gunned down two policemen and wounded another in a
northern Pakistani district.
The policemen were trying to arrest two suspects in Lower Der district,
police sources told KUNA.
They said there was an exchange of fire that killed two policemen including
a sub-inspector and critically wounded another.
Militants have intensified their attacks on security forces in Pakistans
northern areas since the deadly army raid on the Lal Mosque in Islamabad.
On Friday, a suicide bombing here killed 15 people including 8 policemen
and wounded 72 others.(end)
