KABUL, June 17 (KUNA) -- A roadside bomb killed three US soldiers and their
Afghan interpreter in southern Afghanistan on Sunday.
A brief statement from the Coalition's main Bagram base said the military
vehicle stepped on an improvised explosive device around 1:30 pm in Kandahar
province.
Names and nationalities of the soldiers were not released pending
notification of next of kin.
A day earlier, a Coalition soldier was killed in combat operation in the
neighbouring province of Uruzgan. Besides the Sunday's deadly blast in Kabul,
four suicide attacks were carried out in Afghanistan in three days.
Two such attacks occurred in the southern provinces of Uruzgan and Kandahar
on Friday while another two were carried out in Kabul and the northern city of
Mazar-i-Sharif on Saturday.
Target of all the four attacks were NATO and ISAF soldiers. However,
officials said only two soldiers were injured in the blasts. (end)
